Khaula Khan

I am an experienced Mathematics tutor with a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde and around 30 years of teaching experience, including approximately 16 years of private tutoring.

I teach Mathematics and Further Mathematics across a wide range of levels, including National 5, GCSE, O-Level, Higher, A-Level, Advanced Higher and university-level Mathematics. I have taught students both in the UK and abroad, and I work with learners of different ages, abilities and confidence levels.

My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I begin by identifying the areas they find most difficult and then work through these step by step using clear explanations, worked examples and practice questions. For students preparing for exams, I regularly use past papers and exam-style questions to improve both mathematical understanding and exam technique.

I believe students make the best progress when they understand why a method works rather than simply memorising a set of steps. I encourage students to explain their reasoning, ask questions and become increasingly confident working independently.

Over the years I have supported students who are aiming for top grades, students working towards university entry requirements and conditional offers, and students who simply need additional help to strengthen their understanding of Mathematics.

My approach is patient, supportive and encouraging, while still maintaining high expectations. I aim to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and where lessons are focused on their individual goals.

I offer both online tuition and face-to-face lessons from my home.
