Personal Profile:

Hello! I'm Garrie, a full-time tutor of Maths, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry and Computing at University and ­Secondary School level, offering tuition both online and in-person in the Greater Glasgow area.

Having tutored for over 15 years, I've helped 500+ students achieve the grades and exam results they were hoping for. I have a background in academic teaching and research, having held posts as Research Assistant/Teacher at the University of Glasgow's School of Engineering.

I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a first class B.Eng. (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering, finishing at the top of my class. I also previously conducted postgraduate research and teaching duties at the University of Strathclyde.

I am deeply passionate about my subject and the fields which underpin it. I enjoy sharing that passion with others, and helping them to comprehend these subjects in a way that is hopefully inspiring and interesting to them.

Teaching Approach:

Each student has individual needs and learning styles, and I aim to tailor my approach to match the student, and give them some control over how they want to be taught.

Students will have a say in what they learn from me, and how we approach it, helping me to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and structure a learning programme that complements them.

I intend for my students to gain a solid foundation and interest in their subject, and develop their own revision skills to improve their capacity for independent learning - it isn't just about passing the exam, but about nurturing an interest the subject and developing skills for the future.

I believe that the best way to learn is to enjoy yourself while doing it, so I aim to keep the sessions engaging for the student.

Pricing Information:

Hourly rates start at £55/hr for tutoring SQA Higher and AS Level.

Full pricing for all levels I teach are as follows:

- SQA Higher/ AS Level/ College - £55/hr
- SQA Advanced Higher/ A Level/ College - £60/hr
- University Years 1-2 - £70/hr
- University Years 3-4 - £80hr
- For any other equivalent level course or casual learning, please enquire for pricing.

Block of 5 hours of lessons: 5% off
Block of 10 hours of lessons: 10% off

In person lessons may occasionally include an additional travel charge depending on travel time and distance.
