I have very good knowledge of letter writing, essays, story telling, composition, use of idioms, proofreading, adjectives, phrases, noun, pronouns, adverb, making simple sentences, basic communication tools etcetera.
The methology I use is starting from the basics before getting to the complex. Empowering my students to be excellent in class work and homework. You don't have to speak complex English, use simple sentences as the aim is to communicate well, write well and improve over time.
Things to do in your spare time are:
Read anything you can lay your hands on.
What are your hobby or passion ? Read what will grab your attention not something boring to you.
Use of Punctuation when writing is important.
Speak more of English if it's not your first Language, the more you speak, the more you get better.
You can watch movies in English Language with English subtitles.
If someone speaking in English to you is too fast, don't be afraid to tell them to come again.
Be patient and willing to take corrections.
Make the Dictionary your friend, be ready to look up words that are not familiar.
Ask Questions.
As for writing, keep a Diary, write your thoughts and daily observations.
Add new words your vocabulary everyday.
Try to write your imaginations down not just things happening to you in real life.
Activate the power of your imagination!
Finally, you can speak and write better, no matter your age or background,it only takes a willing heart and determination.
