My lessons are very much centred around what works best for you. I have many resources including a step by step powerpoint for every topic. I find the textbooks cram lots of detail into a small block of texts whereas my slideshows are more detailed. I emphasise the importance of active listening and interaction through from the student. I constantly check the student understands where we are up to and there is no embarrassment if we need to go over the same concept all lesson until the student understands, as thats the best way to achieve a long lasting understanding.
