About me

Learning the cello with me is all about enjoying music while building confidence step by step. I like to keep lessons relaxed, fun, and interactive — we play games, try different pieces, and find music that inspires you. At the same time, I make sure you develop a solid technique and understand how to read music, so you feel comfortable and proud of your progress.

I like to keep lessons relaxed, fun, and interactive — we play games, try different pieces, and find music that inspires you. At the same time, I make sure you develop a solid technique and understand how to read music, so you feel comfortable and proud of your progress.

I have been playing for 19 years, studied at Kyiv Music Academy, hold an ABRSM Diploma in Music Teaching, and I am now finishing my studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I perform in ensembles, orchestras, and projects across Glasgow, and I bring this real-life musical experience into my teaching.

Whether you want to pick up the cello as a hobby or take your playing more seriously, I will create lessons that match your pace and goals. I also have a student cello you can use to get started if you don’t yet own an instrument. Lessons are available in Glasgow, either at my place or as home visits.

Kateryna is a great teacher. She is able to explain the music theory behind the exercises to form a good basis of understanding, and also pays attention to bow and finger technique in order to make it as comfortable as possible, setting good habits from the start. She has lovely ways of explaining things that makes it easy to visualise and remember. She is encouraging and enthusiastic and keeps your morale going when you feel frustrated at not being able to play anything!! Kateryna is reliable and flexible when arranging lessons, and clearly communicates about times and any changes. She obviously loves the cello and this shines through in her teaching. I would thoroughly recommend Kateryna as a teacher!
