My lessons will be conducted in the style of a one on one university tutorial or seminar. This will commence with a short lecture style presentation, followed by a discussion with the opportunity to ask questions in either direction. This will allow me to assess what individuals need, as well as their learning style, and to set appropriate tasks. I like to produce my own written texts as examples or for analysis, and these will always be fun, engaging and creative to work with.

I will then set written assignments which will allow the pupil to feel they are working towards an objective. Most importantly they will allow me an insight into where their strengths lie, as well as areas that can be improved upon. Because I feel that a face to face discussion, tailored to the individual is the best way to approach tasks they found particularly difficult, much of my lessons will be dedicated towards allowing my students to present their work, whilst I listen. We can then engage in discussion in which I focus upon their ideas and how these ideas can be expanded.

My teaching style is relaxed and informal whilst retaining appropriate professionalism. It is mostly centred around written and verbal communication, and is designed to inspire and draw out high level conversation. I bring to my teaching my passion and an extremely caring and patient nature. Perhaps most importantly I bring wealth and depth of knowledge acquired at one of the world’s leading universities.
