Zoe Van Niekerk

I am a friendly, patient and encouraging tutor who believes that every student can improve with the right support and explanation. My lessons are aimed at school students who may be struggling with certain topics, feeling behind in class, preparing for assessments, or simply wanting to build more confidence in their abilities.

I offer online lessons in Maths, Science and English, and I adapt each lesson to the individual student’s needs, level and learning style. I know that not every student understands a concept in the same way, so I am always happy to explain something differently, go back to the basics, or work through a problem step by step until it makes sense.

My lessons are interactive and supportive rather than intimidating. I use clear explanations, examples, practice questions and revision to help students understand the reasoning behind what they are learning instead of simply memorising answers. I also encourage students to ask questions freely and never want them to feel embarrassed for not understanding something.

One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is working with students who have lost confidence or feel that they are “bad” at a subject. I enjoy helping them realise that they are often far more capable than they think. We can identify the areas causing difficulty, strengthen the foundations and gradually work towards more challenging questions.

I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable, supported and motivated to learn.
