My lessons are highly personalised, engaging, and designed around each student's individual needs, goals, and learning style. I believe that no two students learn in exactly the same way, so I avoid a one-size-fits-all approach and instead create lessons that help each learner build confidence and make meaningful progress in an engaging and creative way.
My academic background includes a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MA in International Journalism. Alongside my work as a writer and editor at Trill magazine, these qualifications have given me a strong understanding of language, literature, critical analysis, and effective communication. They also allow me to provide expert support in English Language, English Literature, creative writing, essay writing, and academic writing.
I currently tutor three students each week at different levels, including KS2, Year 9, and GCSE. This experience has helped me develop a flexible and proactive teaching style that can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities, and learning preferences, ensuring that every student receives support that is relevant and effective.
My lessons are always structured creatively and can include a mixture of guided reading, creative writing, discussion, interactive exercises, writing practice, exam preparation, and confidence-building activities. For younger students, I incorporate engaging and age-appropriate games and tasks to keep learning enjoyable, while older students benefit from focused support with essay writing, textual analysis, critical thinking, and exam techniques.
Above all, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking any question, making mistakes, and developing their skills. I am patient, approachable, and genuinely passionate about English, and I take great pride in helping students grow in both ability and confidence.
