My first lesson is free so that I can get to know the student. What do they find most difficult? Speaking, listening, reading or writing? I then check the basics making notes as we go. In this way I am able to assess not only the ability of the student but also the learning style. I will always get the student to note vocabulary as we go and would then start each subsequent lesson with a vocabula...
