My approach is to first discuss with the student what kind of learning techniques they work best with and discuss their educational goals. For example, if a student is looking for a tutor to help with university exams, I would be able to craft a learning/lesson plan that would specifically fit those needs that would differ from a student studying for their A Levels or from a primary school student. Every student learns differently, so I prefer a more tailored and hands-on approach. I can also help students set themselves up for success in history by teaching them how to properly conduct historical research at different levels, whether it is just for a paper or for a long term project. I can also create lesson plans for just about any subject in history, but I do specialise in Roman, Medieval European, and American history. That being said, I am always happy to encounter new subjects and help students find their way through them! As I said, I can also help students learn how to properly conduct historical research as I have great experience doing so myself and am currently pursuing a research Master's. I do nothing but research! I also have experience in archival work so I can assist students in learning about both digital and physical research practices. I truly do enjoy learning about history and love helping others realise just how much more there is to the subject than just memorising names and dates and places.
