Hello! My name is Kae, and I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic Japanese tutor with experience teaching both children and adults. I have achieved JLPT N1 and N2, attended Japanese Saturday School in London, and have years of experience learning and using Japanese myself.

My approach is simple: you tell me what you want to work on, and I tailor the lesson to you.

Whether you want to practise hiragana or katakana, build your vocabulary, or prepare for the JLPT, I will structure our lessons around what YOU find useful.

I understand the frustration of paying for lessons and not feeling like you are getting to where you want to be. I do not want students spending their lesson learning something they already know or have no interest in learning!

Before the start of each lesson, you can tell me what you would like to focus on. I will plan the lesson accordingly, and we can work through it together :)

I aim to make my lessons both personalised and cost-effective, focusing our time on the areas where YOU will get the most benefit.

Lessons may involve:
• guided practice
• conversation
• worksheets and exercises
• reading and writing
• explanations
• or exam-style questions depending on your goals.

I have three years of experience working at Kumon, supporting children with their learning, as well as experience working at a Japanese nursery in England with children up to seven years old. Having attended Japanese Saturday School myself, I understand the experience of learning Japanese alongside an English education. I have also achieved a First Class degree in History at Durham University.
