Hi, I’m Juan, a native Spanish teacher from Córdoba, Argentina. I help adults learn Spanish and become more comfortable expressing themselves, whether they’re starting from scratch or already speak the language and want to develop greater fluency.
I have more than 15 years of teaching experience, including over 10 years teaching online, and have worked with students from more than 10 countries. What I enjoy most is getting to know each person and creating lessons that connect with their interests, goals and everyday life.
My approach is warm, flexible and focused on communication. You can expect a relaxed atmosphere where you have time to think, ask questions and make mistakes. Conversation is central to my lessons, with grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation woven in to help you move forward. I especially enjoy working with intermediate and advanced learners who want to move from understanding Spanish to speaking it naturally and confidently.
Languages have been an important part of my own life. I completed secondary school in the United States as an exchange student and later lived and studied in several countries across Latin America and Europe. Alongside my native Spanish, I speak fluent English and conversational German and Portuguese, so I know first-hand both the challenges and the rewards of learning another language.
My academic background includes Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, and Economics. I’m curious about a wide range of subjects, from history, culture and literature to psychology, science and current affairs. If you enjoy exploring ideas, we’ll have plenty to talk about — but there’s just as much room for everyday conversation, travel stories and a good laugh.
Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, music, playing the guitar, spending time with friends and being outdoors, especially hiking and camping.
If you’re looking for thoughtful, enjoyable lessons tailored to you, I’d be happy to meet you for a free 30-minute introductory session.
