I am a motivating, friendly and knowledgeable tutor with years of experience teaching undergraduates at the University of Leicester.
Friendly and Professional Approach:
I understand the anxieties that studying can bring for students, particularly when working towards exams and assessments. I aim to help students build a deep interest in their studies by developing their critical thinking skills and taking a supportive, friendly and enthusiastic approach. It is such a fascinating discipline and I believe that with the right guidance, support and hard work, every student can reach their full potential!
Teaching Experience:
I have had a total of three years of working with undergraduates at the University of Leicester.
I was appointed to an academic Tutorship in Ancient History and was responsible for leading and delivering seminars to first-year undergraduate students.
In this role, I was accountable for creating and producing learning materials aimed at encouraging students to engage in class discussions and, also, to develop their critical thinking. In these seminars, I helped students with translating simple ancient Greek texts and assisted their understanding of key historical themes.
Within this role I demonstrated my interpersonal skills as a highly effective communicator who delivers helpful and encouraging feedback. I always aim to improve my teaching methodology with student feedback, taking on board the lessons learnt from guiding students through challenging academic modules.
I absolutely love working with students as discussing topics and theories with them really brings the subject alive for me!
