Johnpaul Onyeama

I'm a First Class Economics graduate and MSc student at Imperial College London, and I've taught across both universities and schools, as a Teaching Assistant at Imperial, and teaching Business, English, and Maths to classes of up to thirty at Pink Tile Education and Reed. That mix means I'm as comfortable with a student who finds economics intimidating as one aiming for the top grade.

My lessons are relaxed, structured, and built entirely around you. We usually start by pinning down exactly what you want to get out of our time, an exam you're preparing for, a topic that won't click, or just stronger overall confidence, and I build each session around that rather than a one-size-fits-all script. I explain concepts in plain, intuitive terms first, then add the technical detail, and I tie everything back to everyday life, why prices rise, how interest rates affect a household, what a government is really doing when it changes policy. Economics stops feeling abstract once you see it running underneath your own daily life.

I like lessons to be a conversation, not a lecture. I'll often ask you to explain an idea back to me in your own words, because that's when I can see what's really landed, and if one explanation isn't working, I'll come at it from a different angle until it does. Between the theory we work through past questions and problem sets so you're exam-ready, not just familiar with the material. Whatever your level or starting point, my aim is the same: to help you not just pass, but actually enjoy understanding how the world adds up.
