My name is Jennifer and I am an experienced and dedicated English tutor with over a decade of teaching English Literature and Language across secondary, sixth form, and international contexts. I am skilled in one-to-one and small group tutoring, exam preparation, and creative approaches to language learning. I am a published author of 10 texts, study guides and exam preparation books on Shakespeare and Victorian literature. I also have over 10 years' experience as an Examiner for UK exam boards in GSCE Language, Literature and A-Level Literature.

I use a variety of visual tools such as PowerPoints, sample essays, and prompts to make concepts engaging and accessible as well as interactive whiteboards such as Miro. I focus on building confidence by supporting students as they work through answers, using a discussion-based approach rather than traditional lecturing. I provide appropriate scaffolding tailored to each student’s level, whether they are working towards a Level 4 or reaching for a Level 9, ensuring they feel supported while developing independence and critical thinking skills.
