I hold a First Class Honours degree in Cybersecurity and have extensive experience teaching Computer Science across KS3, KS4 and Further Education in the UK. Alongside my teaching background, I bring over 30 years of real-world IT industry experience, having worked on projects ranging from small technical implementations to large, multi-billion-pound programmes. This allows me to bring real-life context into my teaching and show students how computing concepts are applied in industry.
My teaching approach is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I believe in building strong foundations first, ensuring learners fully understand core concepts before progressing to more complex topics. I adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs, using clear explanations, practical examples, and hands-on activities to keep students engaged and confident.
I place strong emphasis on problem-solving, logical thinking, and computational thinking, as well as helping students develop independence and resilience when tackling technical challenges. I am patient, approachable, and encouraging, and I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
I am passionate about computing education and believe it is essential for young people to develop strong digital skills in today’s world. My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success, but also to inspire confidence and curiosity, and to help develop the next generation of skilled and responsible digital citizens.
