I learned Spanish fastest when I threw myself into both the language and the culture. Textbooks and vocabulary lists only got me so far. The real progress came when I started using Spanish in everyday life, listening to native speakers and getting to know the music, food and stories behind the words. It stopped feeling like a subject I had to study and started feeling like something I actually wanted to be good at.

That's the approach I want to bring to my teaching. I'll build lessons around games, songs, storytelling and role play, so pupils are learning by doing rather than sitting and listening. Children remember what they enjoy, and when a lesson is fun, confidence tends to follow.

I also know every child learns differently. Some love working in a group while others need something quieter and more structured. I'll get to know each pupil, adjust how I teach to suit them and make sure everyone feels included. I want a classroom where getting something wrong is just part of learning, because pupils won't take a chance on a new language unless they feel safe.

Most of all, I'll bring energy, patience and a lot of enthusiasm. I want every pupil to be fully engaged from start to finish, leave curious to learn more and come to love language and culture as much as I do.
