Hello, I am a Geography (MA) student at the University of Edinburgh with an A* in CIE A-level geography and 9 at AQA GCSE geography. Lessons will be student led with focus on the topics and concepts you identify. I offer 1-1 online lessons. I can particularly help with essay writing skills and essay planning, especially for 15 and 20 markers, and have As in History and English Lit A-Level. Content can include both physical and human geography and I have experience with both. My lessons will use a mix of case studies, learning concepts, worked examples as well as feedback on exam questions. I did the CIE A-Level and AQA GCSE but I am flexible teaching across the examboards. I will start lessons with quick retrieval quizzes to help students build long-term knowledge of the content and revisit anything from the previous session before moving onto the topics identified- working through concepts and case studies and building up to doing exam practice as well as essay plans to prepare students. My lessons are dynamic, using current and relevant examples from the news as well as textbook case studies to particularly enrich student answers and provide real-world grounding in geographical concepts. I previously volunteered at a charity teaching primary school children literacy and offer a friendly and supportive work environment. You set the pace of lessons. I love to help people in a subject I am so passionate about and have the skills and knowledge to do this and make you more confident in this subject.
