James is very knowledgeable, well-structured and very patient with a great way of interacting with his student. Lessons cover technique, theory and repertoire but in a fun and interactive way that makes you want to learn. He's encouraging, but he'll also pick up on bad habits and correct them before they stick. Sessions are relaxed but purposeful. My son, who started a year ago, has progressed very quickly since having lessons and very much looks forward to the lessons. The biggest recommendation I can give is that I've also inspired to have lessons with James. I'd recommend him to anyone, whether you're starting from scratch or picking it up again after a gap.
