James Nickson

I have no previous experience in tutoring, but if I am given a chance, I can build on my skills from Day 1, then I promise to teach you in the best ways possible. The first class will be free, that is where I will introduce myself and to give myself a chance to share what I am willing to do without making you feel that you just gambled away money. I have taught my peers in the past, but I have never done it professionally. I am currently a Third-Year BSc Health and Life Science student from the University of Exeter with strong academic foundation in human anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, scientific research and data analysis. Prior to this I studied A Level Biology (Grade B), Physics (Grade C) and BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science (Distinction*). I am hoping that with this strong academic background, I can start my career in the right path.

My current plans include tailoring my lessons to the individual pace of the student, and that I aim to complex topics into simple steps. I aim to deliver these sessions via PowerPoint presentations, but I will make sure to only share essential information that is required for their subject and not be filled with too much information. There will also be small interactive quizzes as we go along the session to help solidify the knowledge, and one end of the session quiz to fully make sure that they have learned all that is needed for that topic.

With these sessions I can also share some essential study skills that students require to be able to learn effectively and avoid cramming during the last few days before the exams. These will be based on my personal experience throughout the years.
