I am a native English speaker from Scotland. I studied law (LLB and LLM) and I have a keen interest in languages. I speak fluent German and level B2 Portuguese. Over the past 10 years I have visited or lived in over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa. This experience has given me a wide appreciation of different cultures and worldviews, which helps me to understand your own goals and values. I want to help you reach those goals in a comprehensive way.

I specialize in teaching academic and legal English, and can also provide assistance in understanding the legal system in the UK as a more specific course.

My lessons will be based on practical application to get you ready for using English in the real world. From my own experiences of learning foreign languages, I am familiar with what works and what does not. I know the processes required to achieve particular goals and the time required of you.

The lessons will be conducted online, preferably using Google Classrooms, but if you have a preferred platform, please request. I find that Google Classrooms is the most effective for the classes I want to present. Depending on your goals, a typical joint class will be 1.5 hours, and private lessons can span from anywhere between 30 minutes and 90 minutes.

The curriculum used will be based on your current level and your objectives. It will be necessary to have a language proficiency test for me to assess your current level of English, and I will make recommendations for you based on that.
