Tutoring with me is varied, engaging, and tailored to your goals. In our first sessions, I’ll get to know your strengths, your areas for development, and the achievement level you’re aiming for. With years of experience teaching classes of 30, I’ve learned that truly knowing my students leads to outstanding results and in a one-to-one setting, we can work even more closely, calmly, and effectively.
Our lessons will be personalised to your learning style, focusing on correcting misconceptions, practising key skills, and building confidence. Where helpful, I’ll set exam-style questions for homework so we can review them together and track genuine improvement. I use high-quality resources from exam boards and have expert knowledge of Scottish Qualifications, as well as GCSE and A Level courses.
During sessions, I create shared online documents so we can work through material together. These resources you’ll keep for as long as you need, whether for revision or communicating progress with teachers. My role is to support and strengthen your learning, especially if class has been challenging. I’ve helped students who have missed significant learning, struggled with teacher relationships, or failed prelims, and I’ve seen consistent success.
As a practising classroom teacher, I know exactly what examiners are looking for and there’s no guesswork. Above all, I keep lessons lively, supportive, and rooted in my passion for History, because that’s what helps students thrive.
