I like my lessons to be led by the students, so I always work on things that will be best for them. Learning content for exams can be tedious, so I try to promote a curious mindset by engaging with any questions that students have - especially the ones that go beyond the examinable content! Talking through these 'stretching' questions is a great way to make the actual content seem so much easier. That said, I believe that practising past paper questions is the only real way to learn how to improve exam technique, so my lessons run on a blend of practice questions and in-depth discussion. The best sessions feel more like a conversation than a lesson!
