My lessons are calm, friendly, and focused on helping students feel more confident with maths. I know that maths can feel stressful or overwhelming for many students, so I always try to create a relaxed environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I want my students to know that they do not have to understand everything straight away. My job is to help them get there step by step.

I have around two years of tutoring experience. I first started tutoring at my old school, where I helped Year 7 students with their maths homework and supported them with topics they found difficult. Since then, I have tutored GCSE Maths students through MyTutor and another tutoring company, helping them improve their understanding, confidence, and exam technique.

At the start, I like to get to know the student and understand what they find difficult, what they enjoy, and what they want to improve. Every student is different, so I do not believe in teaching everyone in the same way. Some students need help with the basics, some need more practice with exam-style questions, and others simply need someone patient to explain things differently.

My lessons usually begin with a quick recap or a few warm-up questions, so we can build on what the student already knows. I then introduce the topic for the lesson and explain it clearly in small, manageable steps. After that, we go through examples together before the student has a go independently. I think this is really important because it helps students grow in confidence and shows them that they can do it on their own.

I also use plenty of practice questions throughout the lesson, because maths becomes much easier when students get used to applying the methods themselves. If a student gets something wrong, I never make them feel bad about it. Mistakes are a normal part of learning, and they often show us exactly what we need to work on next.

For younger students, such as Year 7, I focus on building strong foundations and making maths feel less intimidating. For GCSE students, I follow their exam board specification carefully, making sure we cover the right content while also working on exam technique and confidence.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and encouraging. I want students to feel that they can ask any question, even if they think it is basic. A big part of my lessons is helping students realise that they are capable of improving with the right support and consistent practice.

Overall, my lessons are about more than just getting through maths questions. I want students to leave each lesson feeling clearer, more confident, and more positive about what they can achieve.

Jaiden is very competent and explains in a manner that makes it very easy to understand even the difficult topics. After only a month of sessions, my son was more confident and did so much better on a practice paper. I only wish I had found him sooner!
