My experience in teaching English is far-reaching, including TEFL via Zoom and Theatre in Education throughout Europe. In my time, I've worked with students with a wide variety of abilities and needs, and have been able to tailor my approach to each one. My focus lies both on satisfying the curriculum and overall development. I'm driven by a student realising their capabilities.
I typically conduct sessions over video call, to allow for maximum flexibility for my students. However, I frequently utilise a range of digital audio and visual aids to ensure that interactivity and engagement are not lost. I, myself, am a kinaesthetic learner, and so I can appreciate how different styles require adjustment.
I believe, especially within the humanities, in cultivating a learning environment for students, where mistakes are not demonised, to allow for boldness and bravery to flourish. In English, it's essential for students to feel that their voices matter, and to give them the skills and confidence to articulate 'why'.
Since achieving a degree in English & Drama in 2018, I have developed both analytical and creative writing skills that have spanned an array of sectors including theatre and marketing. This experience, along with my time in foreign language tutelage, has allowed me to develop a practice built on combining the disciplines of analysis and creativity.
Ahead of working together, I dedicate time to understanding a student's goals and develop a learning plan based on these and their own learning style. I look forward to hearing from you!
