What are my lessons like? My lessons are structured to be both rigorous and relatable. As a student currently at St Albans School who is about to sit my own Maths and Further Maths GCSEs, I am uniquely positioned to help others. I don’t just teach from a textbook; I teach from the perspective of someone who is currently mastering these exact topics and understands where students often get stuck....
What are my lessons like? My lessons are structured to be both rigorous and relatable. As a student currently at St Albans School who is about to sit my own Maths and Further Maths GCSEs, I am uniquely positioned to help others. I don’t just teach from a textbook; I teach from the perspective of someone who is currently mastering these exact topics and understands where students often get stuck.
The Lesson Format: Every session is tailored to the student’s immediate needs, but generally follows a three-step success plan:
Review & Clarify: we begin by looking at recent schoolwork or homework that caused confusion. I believe in "gap-filling"—identifying the small misunderstandings that trip students up in larger questions.
Interactive Problem Solving: Instead of me just lecturing, we work through problems together. I use the same logical breakdowns and mental frameworks I use in my own high-level studies to simplify complex algebra, geometry, and calculus.
Exam Mastery: For the final part of the lesson, we focus on past paper questions. I’ll show you exactly how to "read" an exam question to figure out what the examiner is looking for, helping you pick up every possible mark.
Dynamics and Experience:My tutoring style is "peer-to-peer." I’ve found that students often feel more comfortable asking me "silly" questions than they would a teacher. Because I’ve chosen Maths and Further Maths for A-Level, I have a genuine passion for the subject and can explain why certain concepts matter for the future.
My Commitment: I offer these sessions on weekends to ensure we have a relaxed, focused environment without the rush of a school day. My goal is to transform "Maths anxiety" into confidence, providing high-quality support at an accessible starting rate of £15 per hour.
