I have over 17 years of experience teaching students of different cultural backgrounds and levels of competency, from university students in China to junior secondary students in Russia. I strongly believe that with any skill the key is 'You USE it, or you LOSE it!'. There are many engaging ways to practise reading, speaking, listening and writing. Teachers, just like students, want the lessons to be fun as well as useful.
As I have lived abroad for a large part of my life, I have first-hand experience in adapting to new language patterns, unfamiliar scripts, cultural connotations and more. Believe me, your first language is not an obstacle, but a useful tool. It may seem overwhelming at first, but it is rewarding! And the good news is that it is never too late to learn! Let's be lifelong learners together!
