My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals and learning style. Whether a student needs help preparing for exams, working through difficult topics, improving their confidence, or expanding their knowledge beyond the curriculum, I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I also adapt the pace and difficulty of lessons according to the student's needs, whether they require additional support with the fundamentals or are looking to stretch themselves with more challenging material.

Lessons typically begin by reviewing previous topics and identifying any areas that need further explanation. We will then either cover the previous topic in more depth or work through new concepts together. I aim to make my explanations as clear as possible by including multiple worked examples and giving plenty of opportunities for the student to ask any questions and check their understanding. We would then typically move on to practice questions, with support provided where needed. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so that we can develop not only their understanding of the topic, but also their confidence and problem-solving skills.

I have around 3 years' experience tutoring Maths, Further Maths and Economics to students of all ages and abilities, from primary school through to A-level. I have supported students with building confidence in subjects they find challenging, strengthening their understanding of key concepts, preparing for exams and working through more advanced material.

Having studied Mathematics at Durham University, I have developed a strong foundation in mathematical problem-solving and logical reasoning, and I particularly enjoy helping students break down challenging problems into manageable steps. I focus on ensuring that students understand why a method works, rather than simply memorising a process, as I believe this leads to greater confidence and longer-term understanding.
