I am an aspiring engineering student, having recently completed my a-levels in maths, physics and media. I have GCSE’s graded 9-7, including maths, physics, chemistry, biology, English.
My lessons are engaging, flexible and enjoyable! I strive to tailor my classes to fit each students unique learning style. My classes are planned in advanced and I use the input of my students to adapt classes that align with their goals and objectives.
I start off with recaps/starters activities at the beginning of each class to refresh my students’ memory of previous work and go get their minds focused for the lesson ahead. Then I introduce the topic for the day, where I walkthrough some notes and examples with the student, ensuring that they are attentive and actively participating. After this, I usually move onto guided work, where we work through questions/worksheets together this is followed by independent work. I mark the students work and go through corrections with them. Finally, I end the class with a summary and mini brief/review of our next class and targets. I go through what went well during the session, as well as what needs to be improved and how we can work together to strengths these areas.
As a tutor, I work with primary school, high school and college students, adapting my sessions for each student, using creative strategies to explain difficult concepts and build confidence. Through this experience, I developed strong communication skills, and found a deep passion for helping others learn and succeed.
