I've been teaching maths online for several years, working with students preparing for O Levels, IGCSE (Cambridge/CAIE and Edexcel), and A Level exams. My lessons are structured but flexible — I start each session by understanding where a student is struggling, then build a plan around their specific gaps rather than following a generic syllabus checklist.

Format: Sessions are conducted live over Google Meet or Zoom, using a shared digital whiteboard so we can work through problems together in real time, just like sitting side by side with pen and paper. I share notes and practice questions after every lesson so students can revise independently.

Teaching approach: I believe maths is best learned by doing, not memorizing. Rather than just showing a formula, I walk through the logic behind it so students understand why a method works — this makes it far easier to apply to new problems, especially in exams where questions are rarely asked in the exact same way as in the textbook.

For exam-focused students, I place heavy emphasis on past papers and mark schemes, since understanding how examiners award marks is just as important as knowing the content. I track common mistakes each student makes and target those specifically in future sessions, rather than repeating topics they've already mastered.

Experience: I've helped students go from struggling with basic algebra and trigonometry to confidently tackling calculus and statistics at a higher level. I'm patient, adapt my pace to the student, and make sure lessons stay engaging rather than feeling like a lecture.
