My Lessons – English Tutor (MA TESOL, Manchester Met)
I hold an MA in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from Manchester Metropolitan University and an MA in English Literature, with over 7 years of teaching experience across secondary schools, colleges, and adult education. I am passionate about helping learners of all ages and backgrounds build confidence, improve their English skills, and achieve their personal or academic goals.

My lesson format is simple, structured, and student-centred.

Every lesson begins with a short check-in: What went well last time? What feels difficult? What do you want to focus on today? This ensures we always work on what matters most to you.

For secondary students (KS3–GCSE): I focus on essay structure, analytical writing, reading comprehension, and exam technique. I use real past papers, model answers, and step-by-step scaffolding to build confidence before assessments.

For university learners and adults: I tailor lessons to your specific needs — whether that's academic writing, presentation skills, grammar precision, or spoken fluency for work or daily life. I draw on TESOL-informed strategies to explain complex language clearly without overwhelm.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and practical. I avoid jargon. I use real-world examples, visual organisers, and structured writing tasks. I give kind but honest feedback so you always know what you are doing well and what to try next.

I also offer support with university applications, personal statements, and English for professional settings.

Lessons are online (Zoom/Google Meet) with shared documents for real-time collaboration. I provide resources, homework (if wanted), and summary notes after every session.
