I am a History graduate from St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford (First Class predicted, 2:1 awarded), with AAA at A-Level and ten GCSEs graded 5–9. I have practical teaching experience supporting English Literature and Language students across a range of abilities, having designed learning materials, reviewed assessments, and tracked student progress individually.

What my lessons look like:
My sessions are structured but flexible, always tailored to the individual student. At the start of working together, I take time to understand where you are, what your exam board requires, and what your specific goals are — whether that is improving essay technique, building confidence with sources and unseen texts, or targeting a particular grade boundary.
Each lesson typically combines direct instruction with guided practice. I focus heavily on the skills that examiners reward: clear argumentation, precise use of evidence, and the ability to construct a well-reasoned response under timed conditions. For English, I place particular emphasis on close reading and analytical writing. For History, I develop students’ ability to evaluate sources, construct extended arguments, and engage critically with historiography at A-Level.
For Oxbridge applicants, I offer dedicated preparation covering personal statement drafting, subject-specific admissions tests, and interview technique, drawing on my own experience of the application process and life at Oxford.
Sessions are available, and I am happy to work around school schedules and exam timelines.
