I like to teach maths and chemistry using colourful notes and diagrams on a collaborative whiteboard to make lessons engaging and easy to follow. We usually start by exploring the key concepts visually, then move on to practice questions and verbal reasoning to strengthen understanding.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual learning needs, according to my intuition and adaptability. For example, I’ve worked with a student with ADHD and dyslexia, where a slower, more repetitive approach proved most effective. For other students, I often teach two parallel topics to help them make connections and see how different ideas link together. This flexible method ensures that every learner can become confident in themselves.
I am a very easy going and relaxed person, and want to make the student comfortable first, and get them excited to learn. I think this can stem from their increased confidence in their evaluative answers on a topic in their own words, so I like to encourage open discussion and participation throughout my lessons.
A bit about me: I am studying chemistry on an exchange programme at the Danish Technical University in Copenhagen, enjoying laboratory and theory work, and feel strong drive to excel in the scientific community. I like to draw real life examples into my teaching, and often explain current research beyond their examination board! However, ultimately the exam preperation is most important :)
