Imogen Long

I pride myself in teaching lessons that are not only centered around the content but also the format of essays in Sociology. I have a deep understanding of what exam boards look for in sociology essays and I believe that is what a lot of people who struggle with Sociology lack. Therefore, I tend to center my lessons around learning the content needed whilst incorporating that into essays. I sat GCSE and A level sociology and received a grade 8 at GCSE and an A at A level and therefore feel I understand the position that students are in as well as what the examiners are looking. Sociology can be a very complex subject with remembering a lot, as well as understanding how to formulate your knowledge into an essay and I would be honoured to help make the journey of learning sociology easier and a more exciting experience for all. I have previously done work experience in schools where I have assisted in GCSE sociology classes and found that it was not only very rewarding but also an amazing opportunity I want to extend through online tutoring. Through my experience, I have found that one of the most important ways to help children gain a deeper understand of sociology is through individual engagement. One-on-one catering to each child is something I pride myself in, as I find that individual engagement can help areas of weakness for that specific child grow and they become more confident and more patient with the complexities of sociology.
