My lessons are structured, supportive, and engaging, with a strong focus on helping each child learn in a way that suits them individually. I begin by getting to know the child and observing how they approach tasks, which helps me understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. I believe that building trust and a positive relationship first is very important, as children learn best when they feel comfortable and supported.
Once I understand their needs, I adapt each session to match their level and goals. I keep instructions short, clear, and simple so that children can understand quickly and start tasks straight away. I break down more difficult work into small, manageable steps and regularly check in with them to make sure they are confident before moving forward. This helps prevent frustration and keeps them engaged throughout the session.
My teaching style focuses on turning weaknesses into strengths by giving targeted support and consistent encouragement. I provide clear and specific feedback so children know exactly what they are doing well and what they can improve. I adjust my approach depending on how they respond, making sure each child progresses at their own pace.
I also make learning enjoyable by including games, interactive activities, and linking tasks to the child’s personal interests where possible. I give them some choice within activities to help them stay motivated and involved.
With around five years of experience working with children through church activities and informal babysitting, I have developed strong patience, communication skills, and the ability to manage different ages and personalities. My main goal is to create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment where children feel confident, supported, and motivated to learn and improve.
