Based in Swansea, I offer GCSE WJEC Biology tutoring at weekends and on Mondays and Wednesdays after 5pm. As an A-Level student currently studying Psychology, Business studies, and most importantly, Biology, I have recently completed the same GCSE course and therefore understand the specification, exam requirements and challenges students may come across.
My sessions are centred around what each student finds most difficult. Before a lesson, I ask students to let me know which topics or areas they would like to focus on so I can prepare relevant resources and make the best use of our time together.
I enjoy breaking down more challenging biological concepts into simpler, easier-to-follow explanations, using examples and step-by-step guidance where needed. Alongside understanding the subject content, I also focus on exam technique, including how to structure answers, interpret questions and use the correct scientific terminology to gain marks.
Having recently gone through my own GCSE exams, I can also share revision techniques and approaches that I found useful. I want lessons to be engaging and productive, giving students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice rather than simply memorising information. Whether it’s going over a difficult topic, working through past-paper questions or preparing for an upcoming exam, I’ll make sure sessions are suited to what the student wants to achieve. Ultimately, I hope to make Biology more manageable and help students feel better prepared and more confident in their exams.
Additionally, I welcome feedback so I can continue adapting lessons to suit each student's progress and goals.
