Children are individuals and learn at different rates. All of my lessons are tailored to each individual child and our first meeting will always be a “meet and greet” so that we can learn about, and, get to know each other. Everyone learns differently and it’s important from the outset we work together to find your child’s preferred way of learning, by doing this we ensure progression. I will always find out a child’s likes and dislikes and tailor my lessons around these. I particularly enjoy practical teaching and learning - making and doing always makes learning more fun! I want children to take ownership of their learning and I will encourage them to take an active part in thinking about themes and projects we can study that will capture their imagination. Of course, there will always be times when we need to sit and work through more formal activities but I will always try and keep these to a minimum so that we get a real love of learning. I want children to be curious and ask questions, as this will shape some of their learning and keep their interest. My strap line is “let’s learn and grow together “ and I truly believe that we can do this together by making your child’s learning a partnership between us. Communication is absolutely key and at the beginning and end of each session I meet with parents to have a chat about how things have gone and our next steps.
