After many years in education, most recently as a Headteacher, I made the considered decision to step away from headship at Christmas to focus more directly on supporting individuals through coaching. I am currently training as a Level 3 and Level 5 Life Coach and this transition reflects my deep commitment to using my experience to support the next generation of learners in a more personalised and empowering way.
My career in education has been driven by a passion for helping young people succeed—academically, emotionally, and personally. Having taught across the full primary age range and led schools for several years, I have an in-depth understanding of the pressures students face and the factors that influence motivation, confidence and performance. I now bring this insight into my coaching practice, supporting students to develop self-awareness, resilience and effective strategies to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Through my life coaching training, I am developing a strong client-centred approach, underpinned by active listening, reflective questioning, goal-setting, and accountability. I am skilled at creating supportive, non-judgemental environments where individuals feel heard and empowered to explore challenges honestly. By helping students understand themselves better—how they learn, what motivates them and what may be holding them back—I support them to take ownership of their progress and unlock their potential.
My extensive experience as an educator strengthens my effectiveness as a Student Life Coach. I have spent years mentoring pupils, early-career teachers and apprentices, designing personalised development plans and closely monitoring progress. I understand how to support learners to improve study habits, manage workload and build confidence, and I am adept at identifying when students need encouragement, structure, or practical strategies to move forward.
In addition, my background as a SENDCo has reinforced the importance of inclusive, individualised support. I am experienced in adapting approaches to meet diverse needs and ensuring that every learner feels capable, supported, and valued. This perspective allows me to coach with empathy, flexibility and a strong focus on strengths.
I bring genuine enthusiasm, warmth and energy to my work and am deeply motivated by empowering others to succeed. Supporting the next generation is at the heart of everything I do and I am excited by the opportunity to combine my years of educational experience with my developing coaching practice to help individuals improve their academic performance, confidence and sense of direction.
Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background in education and life coaching can contribute positively to your students’ success.
My Personal Coaching Statement:
As a Life Coach, my commitment is to place the individual at the centre of every coaching relationship. I bring many years of experience as an educator and leader, combined with my current training as a Level 3 and Level 5 Life Coach, to support clients with empathy, professionalism and genuine care. I am deeply committed to doing all I can to support each client on their personal journey of growth and development.
I work from a client-centred, strengths-based approach, using active listening, thoughtful questioning and reflection to create a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered. I believe that meaningful change begins with self-awareness and I support clients to explore their values, beliefs and motivations so they can gain clarity, confidence and direction.
Drawing on my extensive background in education, I understand how learning, mindset and personal development intersect. I am skilled at helping individuals set realistic, meaningful goals and break them down into achievable steps, while providing encouragement, accountability and constructive challenge. My role is not to provide answers, but to support clients in discovering their own solutions and recognising their capacity to succeed.
I am passionate about empowering individuals to recognise their strengths, overcome self-doubt and develop resilience. I am committed to walking alongside clients as they navigate change, celebrating progress and supporting them through challenges with honesty, compassion and integrity. Above all, I believe in the potential of every individual and I am dedicated to helping clients unlock that potential so they can achieve their goals and aspirations with confidence.
