I always start with a short relaxation and reading.

I then teach a breathing technique, warming up movements, then the asanas ( postures) themselves.

I end with a meditation, a longer relaxation and visualization.

I draw on my training in remedial yoga and comprehensive yoga which includes all aspects of a spiritual practice as described above.

I follow what the student needs based on a short medical questionnaire and what the share initially.

I usually work on a theme such as prana (life giving energy) the energy centres
( the chakras) Relaxing the mind., staying in the present and positive thinking.

I believe that yoga helps us to relax the body and mind, to develop a more positive attitude. To nurture kindness and compassion to ourselves and to others. In this way we are more able to meet the daily challenges of life.

Working on a one to one basis enables me to tailor the session to what the individual needs from the session. This can be on a physical, psychological or emotional.

I ask the individual or the class to complete a short questionnaire to ascertain where they are on a physical, emotional or psychological level. We might have a short sharing before we start the session and there is space to do so at the end of the practice too.

The sessions are up to one hour and a half depending on whether I am working with an individual or a group. I also work in a six week block which enables the student to get the mist out of yoga.

Helen is welcoming and friendly. Helen is very clear on talking through each posture and observing that one is doing it correctly. The room is spacious and light . I really enjoy the class
