Sessions would use a range of teaching methods depending on what skill is being trained.

For reading, I found that past papers worked the best and we will unpack them using different strategies such as crossing out unimportant information/reading the questions first so you know beforehand what to look out for. Reading French/Spanish newspapers and creating reading questions based off of that material will be particularly useful at A-Level.

For writing, we would practice certain phrases/structures that examiners like to see and that work best for you in terms of your writing style. These phrases can be used anywhere as well as in your oral. Grammar would also be included here, especially if there are any particular grammatical areas that you feel you need help with.

For listening, it would look largely similar as reading in terms of past papers as repeated practice and exposure is what will help you the most. Aside from slow news in French/Spanish that is particularly helpful at GCSE, there are other podcasts that I can recommend that A-Level students would be able to find more helpful.

Finally for oral, it would depend heavily on your particular topic for the photograph section at GCSE as well as your IRP at A-Level. I am happy to look at your photograph or IRP beforehand and ask you questions based on that. Then for the other section which includes more open-ended questions, we can work on phrases/structures that you can use anywhere and that will get you marks from the examiner. These include a range of tenses, si-clauses, the subjunctive

But if there is anything specific at all that you would like help with, please let me know!
