Hi, my name is Harry, and I’m a qualified primary teacher with a passion for helping children learn, grow in confidence and discover their own strengths.
I hold a PGCE in Primary Education and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), as well as an Enhanced DBS. I have four years of classroom experience, including three years working in primary education and one year in a specialist SEN school. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with children with a wide range of abilities, needs, communication styles and learning preferences. This experience has taught me the importance of being patient, adaptable and responsive to each individual child.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have a professional background in the arts and education, with experience in movement, storytelling, performance, creative learning and facilitation. I am particularly interested in finding creative and engaging ways to help children connect with what they are learning. I believe the arts can be a powerful tool for developing confidence, communication, imagination and self-expression, as well as supporting academic learning.
My approach to tutoring is friendly, encouraging and personalised. I take the time to understand each child as an individual, identify how they learn best and adapt my sessions accordingly. I want children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying new things, without feeling pressured or judged.
Whether a child needs additional academic support, help developing their confidence or simply a different approach to learning, I aim to create a positive environment where they can make meaningful progress and recognise their own achievements.
Ultimately, I want every child I work with to leave a session feeling proud of what they have accomplished and more confident in what they can achieve next.
