Harry

Hello! I’m Harry a native English speaker from the UK, currently completing my Master’s in Translation at the University of Mainz in Germany. I’m also spending this semester abroad at the University of Valencia in Spain, so I truly understand what it’s like to live and study in another language.

I have experience tutoring students in Germany, including working with children and teenagers learning English. I have supported learners with homework, grammar development, vocabulary building, and, most importantly, building confidence in speaking, and am looking forward to getting started teaching German to English students.

As a Master’s student in Translation at the University of Mainz, I have strong academic training in language structure, intercultural communication, and linguistic precision. This helps me explain grammar clearly and support students in understanding not only what is correct, but also why it is correct.

At the same time, I believe that fluency does not come only from studying rules. Sometimes it is simply about speaking, expressing yourself, and focusing on being understood rather than achieving perfection. Confidence grows through practice, and this is best achieved through a relaxed environment.
