My maths lessons are designed to be engaging, structured, and tailored to the individual needs of each student, whether they are just starting in primary school or preparing for AS Level exams. I believe that building a strong foundation in maths is essential, so for younger learners, I focus on core numeracy skills, understanding concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic problem-solving. Lessons at this level are highly interactive, often using visual aids, real-life examples, and games to make abstract ideas concrete and enjoyable.
As students progress to GCSE and AS Level, my lessons become more structured and focused on developing a deeper understanding of concepts, applying them to problem-solving, and mastering exam techniques. I cover all areas relevant to the student’s curriculum, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and probability. I provide a step-by-step approach to solving problems, carefully explaining each method and encouraging students to ask questions.
A typical session lasts 50–60 minutes, beginning with a recap of previous topics, followed by new content, practice exercises, and discussion. I ensure lessons are interactive, adjusting the pace and format according to the student’s confidence and understanding. I also provide regular feedback and targeted exercises to strengthen weak areas.
With a strong academic record — achieving all 9s at GCSE and predicted A* at A-Level — I am well-equipped to support learners of all levels. Additionally, I have experience helping classmates and younger students understand challenging topics, which has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and effective teaching methods.
