Han Nicholls

Hello! My name is Han and I’m a friendly, experienced and passionate tutor offering private online classes in French, Russian, History, and English as a foreign language.

I study French and Russian at Durham University and have reached C1 level in both, spending considerable amounts of time in both countries which increased my fluency and confidence.

I have lots of experience teaching a wide range of ages, and am extremely familiar with the GCSE specification as well as TOEFL and IELTS test specifications. I previously worked at Angloville summer camps where I led private 1-1 classes for students learning English. From October 2024 to April 2025, I worked as an English Language Assistant with the British Council in rural French primary schools. This 7 month work placement gave me the knowledge to lead lessons by myself and helped me understand how to tailor my lessons to the individual needs of learners. It was a rich and valuable experience that gave me extensive insight into teaching languages.

I hold an enhanced DBS check and have achieved a Level 5 Ofqual accredited TESOL qualification in 2024 that included 120 hours of training in pedagogy, inclusive teaching practices and classroom experience.

My lessons can be tailored to your individual needs, which could include grammar review, speaking practice or reading exercises. I use a wide variety of high quality and authentic resources to help you build your confidence, fluency and skills.
