I am a PhD researcher in One Health at the University of Greenwich, a qualified veterinarian, and a former Graduate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting students across a range of academic levels. My background combines biology, public health, epidemiology, and scientific research, giving me a strong understanding of both the subject matter and the challenges students often face when learning science.
My lessons are designed to be interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I begin by identifying a student's current level of understanding, strengths, and areas where they need additional support. Lessons are then structured around clear learning objectives, ensuring that students not only memorise information but also understand the scientific concepts behind it.
I use simple explanations, real-world examples, diagrams, and practice questions to make complex topics easier to understand. For exam-focused students, lessons can include revision strategies, past paper practice, and guidance on answering questions effectively. For students who want to deepen their understanding of science, I focus on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills alongside subject knowledge.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I supported seminars and workshops and provided academic guidance to more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate students. This experience taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different learning preferences and explain challenging concepts in a way that is accessible and engaging.
I can support students studying Biology and related sciences at GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, build confidence in their abilities, and achieve their academic goals.
