After having worked for a year in Chile, as a language teacher, I have experienced a diversity of different children that require teaching methods. I love to make sure that each lesson I have is focused directly to the student I am working with, as I am very aware that one size does not fit all.
I like to approach teaching in an interactive way, making sure I am working with the student, not just talking at him/her!
From my experience, learning languages is more than just staring at grammar all day, and the progress is actually made when all the skills are brought together.
Languages are my absolute passion in life, and when I get to share that with others who feel the same, I am the happiest I can be. Being 21, and in my 4th and final year of my degree, I like to think that I can relate to my students, as well as recognise all of the necessary requirements needed for certain levels (such as GCSE and A Level.) I think it helps to know exactly what it is the examiners may be looking for as it gives students with exam motivated lessons much more of a focus when working with me.
As well as technique language experience, I have also been lucky enough to experience a vast amount of Hispanic culture during my year in Chile. I also visited Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, and a Spanish speaking Caribbean island which has opened my eyes to the larger cultural differences.
