I am a qualified Geography teacher with five years’ experience teaching students aged 11–18, including experience as a Geography Subject Lead. I have taught across several curricula and exam boards, including AQA GCSE, International GCSE and WJEC, giving me a strong understanding of both Geography content and the assessment requirements students need to meet.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they want to improve their understanding of a particular Human or Physical Geography topic, strengthen exam technique, revise case studies, prepare for an assessment or develop more confidence with extended writing.

I usually begin by identifying the areas where a student feels least confident and then build lessons around these priorities. Sessions combine clear explanations, questioning, retrieval practice and exam-style activities so that students are actively applying what they learn rather than simply reviewing notes.

A particular focus of my teaching is helping students understand how to turn their geographical knowledge into marks. We work on command words, assessment objectives, using evidence effectively, interpreting maps and data, structuring longer answers and recognising exactly what examiners are looking for.

I also have private tutoring experience supporting students through successful GCSE and IGCSE courses, including targeted revision and preparation for final examinations.

My aim is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. At the same time, lessons remain focused and purposeful, helping students build stronger subject knowledge, greater confidence and the independent skills they need to succeed in Geography.
