Two years ago I participated in a mentoring program aimed to aid GCSE students with their exams, and recently I worked as an au pair for 2 children in Spain to aid them in learning English, thus I have experience with students of different ages and abilities, and so I am able to modify my teaching and adapt to the needs of the particular student. Moreover, earlier this year, I worked as an E-mentor to A-Level students, wherein I created and presented to them engaging PowerPoints fortnightly. As part of this, I made quizzes on Mentimeter both in order to ensure that the lessons were interactive, and to understand the students' perspectives, therefore I have both the organisation skills and the experience necessary to be a mentor.
I am studying Spanish and French as part of a Modern Languages degree at the University of Bath, thus I have been exposed to many different methods of teaching, so I am aware of different formats of learning.
I, personally, like lessons to be interactive and to contain a fun and relaxed element, so I aim to replicate that in any classes I teach, whether through quizzes and games or through casual conversation in the target language.
Additionally, I would be able to tutor any level of Spanish, though having completed GCSEs three years ago and A-Levels last year, I would be particularly equipped to mentor students of those stages, as I have extensive knowledge on the format and requirements of those exams.
