Francoise Brilhault

My name is Françoise Brilhault. I was born in Bordeaux, France. French is my native language, but I also speak Spanish and English fluently. I have been teaching French for over 25 years in a variety of language institutions, including universities and the Alliance Française. I have taught students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers looking to refine their grammar, pronunciation, or professional vocabulary.

Before becoming a French teacher, I worked for several years at international organisations such as the OAS and the United Nations, primarily as a translator and interpreter. This experience greatly enriched my cultural awareness and ability to communicate across languages and contexts.

My teaching methodology begins with a thorough introductory session with each new student to understand their personal learning needs and goals. This allows me to tailor our lessons according to their specific objectives and guide them in the best possible way towards what they aspire to achieve. I love teaching, and my aim is to make the classes enjoyable and, above all, productive.

Our lessons will include grammar exercises, reading, pronunciation, and listening and reading comprehension. We will also have extended conversations on current topics, and after each class, I will send the student some exercises to help reinforce what we covered and prepare for the next session. I strive to build confidence and fluency by creating a positive, supportive environment where students feel motivated to express themselves.

My students often describe me as patient, enthusiastic, and approachable. I create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions—because that’s how real progress happens. Your confidence will grow lesson by lesson.
