With a University of London degree in Psychology and 10 years of 1-1 tutoring experience, I am a flexible and experienced tutor with a strong academic background.

Key qualities of my lessons:

Student focussed - every brain is different, so everyone learns differently. I tailor lesson delivery to the student's specific learning style.

Rigorous exam technique - I teach students to structure their answers according to the marking criteria. Lessons will teach them to construct clear, well informed and persuasively written exam essays that will squeeze the most marks out of their answers.

Confidence building - I am committed to creating enjoyable and confidence building lessons for the student. I believe every student has the ability to realise their full potential, and it is my greatest joy to be part of that.

Higher education prep - for students who are looking to study psychology at university, I help them identify areas which interest them, and provide further reading for discussion in their application.


A typical lesson with me looks like this:

1. Quick revision of key studies for last week's topic (flashcard/movement/quiz style)
2. Feedback on homework: where and why marks were given, and identifying opportunities to gain more marks
3. Introduction to new topic, form a broad understanding of the relevant psychology studies in that topic
4. In depth work on the most important studies, identifying the study types, specific methodology, results, conclusions
5. Discussion (verbal, using pictures or creating a mind map) comparing and critiquing each study, identify areas for further research
6. Assisted essay planning, structuring an answer to clearly cover all marking criteria
7. Quick revision of a previous topic and key studies
8. Set homework (e.g. to transform their essay plan into a full essay and/or specific revision of key studies)
